Description: This course introduces basic terms and concepts used to describe and compare governments and politics around the world. This course also introduces information about government structures and political activities in selected countries, which are used to gain a comparative understanding of different political systems. We will focus on advanced industrial countries (Great Britain, Germany, United States); Communist and Postcommunist countries (Russia and China); Newly Industrializing Countries (Mexico and India); Less Developed Countries (Nigeria); and the Islamic World (Egypt).
