Description: Stoichiometry; atomic structure; periodic properties; ionic and covalent bonding; molecular geometry; gases, liquids, and solids; crystal structure; thermochemistry; descriptive chemistry of metals and nonmetals. Required of students majoring in biology, chemistry, and physics and some students in engineering. Note: A diagnostic placement test must be taken by all students enrolled in CHM 115 prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
