Description: An overview of the fundamental concepts of human immunology. Focuses on the interactions between the ost and microbial pathogens and on mechanisms that underlie hypersensitivity reactions, autoimmune diseases, and immune deficiencies. Discusses the principles of vaccination and serological testing. Designed to develop proficiency for Competency III "Using Science to Guide Diagnosis, Management, Therapeutics, and Prevention", and Competency IV "Lifelong Learning", Level 1. For medical students only.
