Description: This course integrates an understanding of multiculturalism with principles of democratic education. Historical, sociological, cultural, political, philosophical, and pedagogical foundations of multiculturalism are explored and related to issues of pedagogy in a pluralistic society. This course includes an experiential component, through a community-based Theory into Practice field experience. It is highly recommended that EDCI 270 be taken with or before taking this course.
