Description: | This first professional year Doctor of Pharmacy course is designed to provide the student with an introduction to pharmaceutical care in terms of traditional prescription services. Prescription services are numerous and diverse; however, this course focuses upon pharmaceutical calculations. Goals of the course are to allow students to 1) obtain a basic framework to problem solve situations in pharmacy practice inclusive of pharmaceutical calculations and 2) demonstrate accuracy in pharmaceutical calculations. Associated laboratories in Integrated Laboratory I (PHRM 301) and Integrated Laboratory II (PHRM 302) focus on the integration of pharmaceutical calculations with prescription compounding. PHPR 314 is a required course for first professional year Doctor of Pharmacy students. |
