Short Title: Polysaccharide Analy
Description: The first twelve weeks will be devoted to methods for the preparation, separation, and structural analysis of polysaccharides from plants and bacteria, including HPLC, GC, GC-MS, and NMR techniques. The last four weeks will focus on functional properties of polysaccharide systems, specifically their rheological properties, using steady shear and oscillatory dynamic tests. Combines lecture and lab; offered in alternate years.
