Description: | This course covers the developmental foundations and curriculum applications of math/science curriculum in inclusive early childhood programs. Specific attention is given to typical and atypical cognitive development of young children and implications for curriculum, teaching strategies and learning goals for children in an early childhood classroom. It includes ways to plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities for children with and without disabilities. Understanding and practicing the teacher's role in facilitating learning through planning and coordinating, sequencing and evaluating cirricula are also emphasized. A practicum experience with young children is included. Admittance to Gate C. |
