Short Title: Linear Control Systems
Description: Introduction to classical control theory. Transfer functions, block diagram manipulation, and signal flow graphs. Transient and steady state responses; characteristics, and design. Sensitivity analysis and disturbance rejection. System stability. Root locus analysis and design . Frequency response analysis using Bode and polar plots. Nyquist criterion and Nichols chart. Controller design using Bode plots. Laboratory will include design, simulation of topics covered, and a number of practical experiments. Credit not allowed for both ECE 384 and ME 485.
