Description: Examine attempts to challenge and resolve the on-going tension between technology and nature since the 1960s. Rrevisit the industrial relationship between nature and culture and then examine the new emerging conflicts between nature and culture as industrialization begins to unravel in rustbelt regions. Special attention will be given to the contributions of artists, landscape architects and designers in processes of change and innovation.
