WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Jeffrey Page, a choreographer who has worked with Beyoncé Knowles and has been featured on Fox network's "So You Think You Can Dance," will conduct a master dance class at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 3) at Purdue University.
The class, free and open to the public, will be in the Feature Gym at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center.
"Jeffrey Page offers an energetic fusion of traditional African dance, hip-hop, funk and soul," said Renee Thomas, director of the Purdue Black Cultural Center. "Page is also a trained actor, director and musician. To each job, he brings a wealth of dance, theatre and film knowledge."
The Black Cultural Center and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion are co-sponsoring Page's appearance.
His choreography also has been featured on "Beyoncé's Tour – The Beyoncé Experience," MTV's Video Music Awards, the BET Awards, the World Music Awards, and Oprah Winfrey's "25th Anniversary Special." He also has worked with R. Kelly, Jada Pinkett Smith, Cirque du Soleil, the Long Beach Ballet and has performed in "Fela!," a Broadway musical.
Page won the MTV VMA Award for Best Choreography for "Beyoncé – Run the World (Girls)" in 2012 and in 2005 was nominated for an Emmy Award for Choreography.
