WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Kick off the Christmas season with a perennial favorite! The first weekend in December finds the holidays in full swing with the 81st-annual Purdue Christmas Show. Performances are scheduled for Dec. 6 and 7 at Purdue University’s Elliott Hall of Music.

The Purdue Musical Organizations Christmas extravaganza features all six of PMO’s ensembles, including the Varsity Glee Club, Purduettes, University Choir, Heart and Soul, Purdue Bells and the All-Campus and Community Chorale. It also features the Children’s Choir, composed of area school children. With fun holiday favorites as well as sacred selections, the show is filled with a variety of seasonal songs.

“The selection of music encompasses the full range of holiday classics,” said PMO director William Griffel. “Many of the songs will sound familiar, but some will be new. Our students enjoy performing for the holidays in a new way each year.”

The Christmas Show is the highlight of the year for PMO, and students have worked all semester on the major production.

“Our students have so much fun putting this show together,” said Griffel. “Their Christmas spirit is so infectious!”

The Purdue Christmas show has four performances: noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 6); and 2 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 7). Tickets are $29 for adults, $27 for seniors, $20 for students, and $12 for children, and are on sale now at the Purdue Box Office in the Stewart Center.
