College of Education to honor 4 alumni

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University's College of Education has named its 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award winners.

The award, given biennially, recognizes notable professional achievements by college alumni.

This year's honorees are:

* Jan Hansen, president and CEO of Educate Tanzania. She earned a doctorate in educational psychology from Purdue in 1988.

* Carol A. Loehr, retired educator and community volunteer and national advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education in 1965.

* Albert Kwing-Wong Siu, vice president and general manager of PAREXEL Academy, a unit of PARAEXEL, a global clinical research and regulatory consulting and outsourcing company. He earned a doctorate in counseling psychology in 1979.

* Deborah S. Teuscher, retired science teacher with the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township in Indianapolis. She earned a master's degree in science education in 1994.
