Explorers
The Explorers learning community, created especially for first-year students in Exploratory Studies, offers a course and out-of-class activities that will help you in your quest to find the right major at Purdue! You will have time to explore your potential in a setting that is academically, professionally, and socially engaging.
Everyone in the LC will take the Academic and Career Planning (EDPS 10500) course together; the course will be taught by your academic advisor in Exploratory Studies. EDPS 10500 is designed to help you learn about yourself, majors, and careers, while also developing deep academic and social networks with other exploring students who will eventually choose majors across campus.
Events are planned by your instructor to enrich course content and add to your college experience. Some of the activities you can participate in include classroom discussions, volunteering in the community, attending Purdue athletic and/or cultural events, meeting for lunch or dinner, special visits and tours across campus, and end-of-semester celebrations.
We hope you will consider applying for this exciting community to build relationships with other Exploratory Studies students.
For specific questions regarding the Explorers LC, please email Colleen Banter (brownce@purdue.edu).
