Are you interested in all the exciting things happening with The Data Mine, but your schedule won't allow for extra courses?  If so, this cohort is just for you!  Students in the general cohort will take the one-hour credit seminar with all other Data Mine students.  However, there will not be the other courses that are associated with the various disciplines or Corporate Partners.  Perfect for the incoming student who has a tight schedule of core courses, the senior student who wants the skill set prior to graduating, and anyone in-between.

There is an application form to complete found on the Data Mine site.

Every fee eligible student involved with a learning community (LC) at Purdue will be assessed the $200 LC fee to their university account.  These funds support activities and travel, signature LC events, housing assignments and/or course registration and instructor stipends.

Events and Activities Included:

  • Visiting speakers, including practicing data scientists
  • Social gatherings with Data Mine LC members
  • Game / recreation nights
  • Career and graduate school panels
  • Professional development activities

Information above is subject to change. If you are placed in the LC, the associated courses will be on your schedule prior to you registering for the rest of your courses.
