Peach-Cranberry Sauce (for meats and vegetables)

Ingredients:

  • 1 can peaches (undrained)
  • 1 can cranberry sauce (jellied or whole)
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 Tablespoon sugar (white or brown)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Stain peach juice into 2 quart saucepan.
  2. Mash peaches with a fork and add to juice.
  3. Add 1 can of cranberry sauce and mash with fork. Mix in cinnamon, chili powder, sugar and ketchup.
  4. Bring mixture to boil and reduce heat. Stir frequently and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Sauce is ready to use.

Ideas for use: Mix into browned hamburger for barbecue. Add a small can of tomato sauce and use for spaghetti sauce. Mix in other vegetables and a type of macaroni pasta and use for main dish. Unlimited possibilities.

Baked chicken: Brown chicken pieces for 3 minutes on both sides, seasoning with salt, pepper and chili powder. Place browned chicken in baking dish and cover with sauce. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until juices run clear. Baking time will vary by thickness of pieces being baked. Be sure chicken reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit on meat thermometer.
