Ensete ventricosum

Uses

Ethiopia (Wollo, Worebabo and Tehulederae): seed and pseudo-stem and seeds possibly eaten. The trunk is also reported scraped; then buried in soil, at a depth of 1.5 meters, covered with leaves and allowed to ferment. It is then baked in the shape of a round, flat cake or bread. The root system is also cooked.
