Study Manager

Manage the logistics and coordination of participant scheduling visits and services.

Isocaloric Gram Weight Menu Development

Menu development specific to protocol either focusing on controlling macro or micronutrients. Also, able to build a controlled feeding menu consistent with food patterns including the Healthy Eating Pattern, Mediterranean Eating Pattern, and Vegetarian Eating Pattern.

Acute Test Meal Menu Development

Acute test meal menu development specific to protocol. Ability to control multiple nutrients within each test meal.

Homogenates

Ability to blend homogenates by meal or day. Homogenates can be freeze dried and then the ash analyzed for nutrients.

Acute Test Meal Tray

Preparation and weighing all ingredients to a tenth of a gram. Includes tray set up with serving utensils. Ability to cover tray with blinding label if desired.

Full Service Snack

Preparation of a full-service snack, including house made recipes specific to study protocol. Includes pack out with microwave safe containers, label instructions and bags.

Fully Prepared Gram Weighed Meal

Preparation of a complete controlled feeding meal with ingredients weighed to the nearest tenth of a gram. Includes any house made recipes specific to protocol. Meal is fully prepared and packed out to research participant with microwave safe containers, label re-heating instructions and meal bags.

Pack out Gram Weighed Raw Ingredients

Weighing of individual raw ingredients. Each meal bagged individually with preparation instructions.

Protocol Management

Management of protocol, including IRB application, submission. Creation of study specific manual of operations.

Dietary Recall – Standard Recall

24-HR dietary recall administration over phone or in person. Includes quality assurance check by PDAC staff member and output report of daily nutrient and food group totals.

Dietary Recall – Comprehensive Recall

24-HR dietary recall administration over phone or in person. Includes quality assurance check by PDAC staff member and all comprehensive output reports available in the NDSR database.

Dietary Recall – Comprehensive Recall w/supplements

24-HR dietary recall with supplement intake. Capacity to manually enter supplements as needed. Includes quality assurance check by PDAC staff member and all comprehensive output reports available in the NDSR database.

Dietary Record Standard

Entry of a dietary record into the NDSR database. Quality assurance check by PDAC staff and output report of daily nutrient and food group totals.

Dietary Record Comprehensive

Entry of a dietary record into the NDSR database. Quality assurance check by PDAC staff and all comprehensive output reports available in the NDSR database.

Mailing to participant

Mailing of the Food Record Model Book to Dietary Assessment research participants.

Remote Studies

Mailing of study food pack outs to research participants.

Consulting – Bionutrition Manager

Use of the Bionutrition Manager services for project management or tasks that don’t fall in our current recharge system.

Consulting – RD

Use of a RD for tasks that are at the discretion of the PI and CRC Director.

Consulting – Faculty Diet Assessment

Faculty expertise in the field of diet assessment.

Consulting – Clinical Manager

Use of the clinical manager for tasks that are at the discretion of the PI and CRC Director.

Anthropometrics

Includes body measurements, such as height, weight and size, and functional measurements, principally concerning how far people can reach in different directions.

Dexa

Assess and measures bone density. It may also have uses in determining body composition, such as the percentage of lean muscle and fat. The dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXAscan uses two low-energy X-ray beams directed toward the bones.

Blood Draw Straight Stick

Procedure in which a needle is used to take blood from a vein, for laboratory testing. Also called phlebotomy and venipuncture.  Labs provide the specific blood tubes they wish to use.

Saline Lock IV

Intravenous (IV) catheter is threaded into a peripheral vein, flushed with saline, and then capped off for later use.

IV Blood Draws

Multiple blood draws done from the Saline lock, then flushed with saline.

Protocol Submission

IRB (Institutional Review Board) Application Support - Provide support to PI/faculty member including coordination, preparation and support through the routing and approval process of the IRB application.
