Clinical Services

Purdue University offers a wide variety of Clinical Services to support research protocols both within and outside the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI).  With the infrastructure to support numerous research projects, clinical staff work with investigators to provide guidance on protocols and collaboration of services throughout the research spectrum. The clinical manager is available to review grant requests, protocols, and IRB applications to help investigators determine clinical testing procedures to answer their research question.

Clinical space at Purdue encompasses over 2500 square feet with ten phlebotomy chairs, bone and body composition equipment and processing space.

Multiple phlebotomy chairs allow for blood sampling by either single draw or IV Catheter placement with the ability for repeated blood sampling. Capacity for acute meal testing is available in coordination with Bionutrition Services. Blood processing space and equipment are conveniently located near phlebotomy chairs. Short term storage is available with a specimen refrigerator, freezers, and minus 80 freezer.

Body composition equipment and services available include:

  • Anthropometrics including body height and weight
  • DEXA Scan
  • BodPod measurement
  • Skinfold Calipers

Protocol specific services are available upon request including blood pressure, heart rate testing, urine/feces sample collection.
