More than a decade later, Dr. Jonathan Oskvarek is an emergency physician based in Akron, Ohio, while living in Cleveland. Outside of clinical work, Oskvarek helps teach new resident emergency physicians at Summa Health System. His position as research director at Summa has been aided by the undergraduate research he pursued while in Purdue’s College of Health and Human Sciences.

From Bluey to sports team logos, superheroes to Disney princesses, James Shepard, a 2024 Purdue University School of Nursing alumnus and oncology nurse at Riley Children’s Health, has drawn them all on various patients’ windows throughout his floor.  Shepard is a nurse first and foremost, but despite no formal art training, he picks up window markers during his night shifts, spreading joy throughout the oncology unit by drawing some of the children’s favorite things on their windows.

Alexandra Harris-Watson, assistant professor in the Purdue University Department of Psychological Sciences, is interested in where the boundaries are in people viewing AI as a teammate or collaboration partner rather than a tool in the workplace. Companies such as Asana and Microsoft have already positioned their AI agents as teammates while others see them as merely a tool in their toolbox.
