Community of excellence helps Psychological Sciences student thrive in HHS

I chose Purdue’s College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) for its immense opportunities within a committed and encouraging environment. Although Purdue is a large university, the opportunities to engage and connect with peers make it feel smaller and more manageable.

Being a minority, I am well-versed in feeling out of place, but here at Purdue, I have been introduced to so many incredible faculty members and students who reinforce my feeling of purpose on campus.

At Purdue, I am seen, heard and able to thrive. HHS has done an exceptional job of fostering a community that stresses academic excellence and gives you the resources to achieve it.

For example, the HHS Success Mentors program and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Undergraduate Committee are two HHS resources that have impacted me. These programs have connected me to individuals with similar outlooks and aspirations and have really cultivated a sense of purpose and belongingness for me on campus. I’m confident you too will find your fit at Purdue.
