Should we assume weight acts at point D?
I used the center of gravity of the rod
You can consider the center of mass of the rod to be at the middle point of the rod.
Are there reaction forces from the cable at point D?
I don’t think so because something secured by a cable can move in the x or y direction, and can rotate about that point
You have a cable tension acting at point D. If you cut the cable, the rod would fall, so, there is a force to hold the rod. Then you have the reaction force that corresponds to the cable tension.
