HINT: This problem is an exercise in becoming familiar with calculating angular momenta. Also, you will observe a lot of cancelation in the calculations with you sum together the contributions from the seven particles. Are you able to understand why these contributions occur?

  1. So I found an equation on page 256 for this. I found the center of mass, but I've realized I don't need this since the acceleration of O is zero.

    Am I correct in this reasoning?

    1. You do not need acceleration for this problem, just the angular impulse-momentum equation from page 253 to find the angular momentum for each particle and then use these to determine the net angular momentum of the entire system.
