Indiana counties enact burn bans

Several Indiana counties, primarily in southern and southeastern regions of the state, have enacted open burning bans due to the dry weather conditions. Even if your county is not currently under a burn ban, always use caution when burning leaves, debris, or when enjoying a recreational fire!

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security current burn ban map can be viewed here: http://www.in.gov/dhs/burnban/

Also, some Indiana state park properties are restricting campfires and cooking fires, especially in the counties affected by burn bans. State park advisories can be found at: https://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/7881.htm

Please check these sites regularly, as more counties will likely add burn bans if the dry stretch continues.
