Be Prepared for Winter Driving!

Although we haven’t seen much wintry weather yet, it’s only a matter of time before ice, sleet, and snow will create hazardous driving conditions. When traveling during snowy or icy conditions, please take your time, and check road conditions before your leave! The following websites provide real-time information for Indiana motorists:

INDOT Highway Info 511
This site provides road condition status of state and federal highways in Indiana. Winter driving conditions, road closures, construction information, and more are included on the site. The site can be customized to provide alerts and information for routes you may travel regularly.

A mobile app is also available for iOS and Android devices. Click here for more information about the app.

Department of Homeland Security Travel Status Map
The IDHS Travel Status map is a current report of county travel advisories, watches, and warnings. These designations are determined by each county, and reported to IDHS.

*** The onset of winter weather is also a great time to evaluate your family’s preparations by visiting IN-PREPared’s Winter Storms/Extreme Cold information. Make your GoBag good to go for the winter!***
