Purdue University’s Office of Engagement Day of Giving – It’s All About Community Impact

Wow. Cannot believe it is that time of year, again, for Purdue’s Day of Giving. We, at the Office of Engagement (OoE), are very grateful for working closely with the Purdue community and our external partners. The OoE has gone through a transition over the past year, and we are excited about what is ahead.

Our mission at OoE is relatively simple: translate Purdue’s brain trust and resources into community impact by meaningfully engaging with our partners. We know this is a two-way street and we also know that trust is everything.

For this reason, during 2023, OoE has reached more than 400 organizations and engaged with more than 650 communities while the university’s engagement ecosystem reached more than 55,000 individuals. A testament to this was our record-breaking engagement and service-learning summit. Our faculty, staff, and students continue to meaningfully engage with our partners resulting in positive societal impact.

From working with regional partners on a $25 million grant to improve the region’s quality of life by focusing on transportation and childcare to helping small Indiana businesses build their boilermaker talent pipelines to cementing a century of local impact through United Way of Greater Lafayette, we will continue full speed ahead.

However, we can’t do this alone. Beyond your willingness to partner and the trust you place in us, we ask that you please continue to support us by giving to the Office of Engagement on April 24 for Purdue Day of Giving. Rest assured that the funds received will allow us to deepen and broaden Purdue’s community impact in a bidirectional, meaningful way.
