May 21-23, 2020 | Sponsored by the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University
WELCOME!
The Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University is pleased to host the seventh installment in its symposium series. This biennial event showcases current and emerging topics within the psychological sciences that form the basis for an edited volume following each symposium.
The 7th Purdue Symposium on Psychological Sciences aims to critically assess the current state of the interdisciplinary literature on prosocial behavior. Drawing from the literatures in social, clinical, and industrial/organizational psychology; management; neuroscience; philosophy; and theology, we ask questions such as (a) is humanity spiraling toward self-destruction or progressing toward greater thriving and well-being? (b) what is the association between prosocial and antisocial behavior? and (c) what is the role of prosocial behavior in intergroup relations and social justice? This symposium will showcase work in these areas and beyond by thought leaders and emerging scholars in the social and behavioral sciences across two days of lectures, early career talks, a data blitz, a poster presentation, mentorship activities, and networking opportunities.
Faculty members, post-docs, graduate students, undergraduate students, and other researchers interested in prosocial behavior are welcome to present their work and attend the symposium. We invite scholars from any discipline and any institution.
Note: Registration is complimentary but we do require you to register to attend so we can accurate information for planning meals and materials.
