Nutrition Science Department Cooking Classes

Varies event dates on Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00pm

Looking for some new recipe ideas? Join us for a monthly series of fresh, healthy, interactive cooking classes. The Department of Nutrition Science will be feature a variety of recipes for all taste buds! All classes will include instruction, hands-on cooking, tasting of all recipes, and a recipe booklet to take home.

Each class is $20 and open to the public. Registration is required by clicking the "Register Now" buttons below.

Classes will be held 5:30-7:00 p.m in Lyles-Porter Hall Demo Kitchen, Room 1107. Parking is available in the Harrison Street Parking Garage attached to Lyles-Porter Hall. Please take a ticket upon entry and ask the Demonstration Leader to validate it before you leave.

Please note, you must be 18 years or older to attend a workshop.

Participants will learn how to make healthy desserts and appetizers that are sure to be a crowd pleaser at your next party. While there are no guarantees, we recommend packing a tupperware container just in case leftovers are available to take home to share with friends and family. Participants must be over 18.


February 6th: High Protein/Low Carb Dishes

Does the winter weather have you left feeling in a slump? Come to this demo to learn how protein and carbohydrates work to fuel your body and give you more energy. Here by popular demand, we will be learning how to make high protein/low carb dishes that will leave you feeling satisfied. March 6th: Springtime Brunch

Rise & Shine! It’s Brunch time! Grab a friend & head to this tasty cooking demonstration because brunch is always a good idea! This class will feature a variety of recipes that participants will prepare, serve and taste-test. April 3rd: Going Greek
