Purdue University Identification:
Suspense Details
The Suspense Match Details shows detailed information about the suspended update
we are trying to process ("Searching for"). Then, detailed information about one
match ("Found") is displayed, showing all relationships in the PUID system for
this person. This detailed information includes address(es), when the relationship
was added and last updated, and the historical list of names for each relationship.
Choices - options listed on this page include:
Add to this person as a new relationship - Based on information listed on
this page, and (possibly) information from other sources including your operational
system, the person "Found" is the same person we were "Searching for". Clicking this
link will create records in the PUID system adding this new relationship to this
existing person. Note this choice and the next choice are mutually exclusive, and
only one of the two will be shown.
Update the existing xxxxxxxxxx relationship with this data - Based partly on
information listed on this page, but mainly on information from other sources
including your operational system, the person "Found" and the person "Searching for"
are the same person. The person is duplicated in the operational system. The
system ID and data in the "Searching for" represent the good record in the
operational system, and the system ID and data in the "Found", already in PUID,
represent the bad record in the operational system. Clicking this link will
cause the data in the "Searching for" to update the information for that relationship
for the person we "Found". Note this choice is most likely only during the
initial data load.
Delete this suspense record - Based partly on information listed on this
page, but mainly on information from other sources including your operational
system, the person "Found" and the person "Searching for" are the same person.
The person is duplicated in the operational system, and have concluded this record
should not have been added to the operational system. You have, or will, delete
the record from the operational system, and so this update should not be processed
into the PUID system. Clicking this link will simply delete the record from the
suspense table. Note this choice is more likely than the above choice in continuing
use of the PUID system.
Go Back to the list of suspense records - You have examined the matches,
and have concluded you do not have enough information to decide how to process this
suspended record. Clicking this link will re-build the Process Suspended Records list.
Note that your browser's "back" button may return you to the list more quickly.
The difference is speed versus listing only those suspended records you have
not processed yet.
People search page - Clicking this link will cause the initial search page
to be displayed.
