Identity and Access Management

Creating a PUID

Creating a PUID adds a person to I2A2 via the Secure Web Interface. Once a person is active in the I2A2 database, that person is eligible to access Purdue computing resources that use I2A2 to identify, authenticate, and authorize Purdue users.

Before you create a PUID you should learn the following pieces of information about the candidate person:

  1. Their name.
  2. Their date of birth.
  3. (Optionally) Their Human Resources ID Number or Student ID Number

Armed with their name and date of birth, you start a search of I2A2. The purpose of the search is to determine if the new person is in the I2A2 database but inactive, that is, unknown to I2A2 subscriber services.

If the person is inactive, activating them is simply a matter of clicking a button.

If the person is not in the I2A2 database, then you will need to fill out a form to cause the person to be created.
