Following updated guidance and approval by the FDA, individuals age 18 and older who were vaccinated against COVID-19 with any approved vaccine may now choose to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster shot at the campus vaccine clinic. It must be at least two months since receiving the J&J vaccine or at least six months since receiving the second dose of any other approved vaccine. Appointments may be made online.

Brock Turner has earned three degrees from Purdue University Global. Today (Dec. 3), the six-year Purdue West Lafayette employee will address the Purdue Board of Trustees about his experience. Also speaking to the trustees today will be Deja Trotter, who earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and this week started her "dream job" as a staff accountant with the Indiana Pacers. Purdue Global’s commencement will take place Saturday (Dec. 4) on campus.

Purdue Memorial Union will be fully decked out for the holiday season once again. On Monday (Dec. 6), the festivities will begin with the arrival of a freshly cut Christmas tree. The tree will be located in the Great Hall and will arrive around noon. A 7-foot-tall gingerbread house also will be featured. Other activities in "Holidays at the Union" will include the tree lighting, musical performances and Breakfast with Santa.

A new Purdue-developed drug designed to help surgeons find cancer tumors and cells has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Cytalux, invented by College of Science professor Philip Low, is the first tumor-targeted fluorescent marker for ovarian cancer to be FDA-approved.
