Purdue University police are reminding the West Lafayette campus community and visitors to travel attentively when on campus as pedestrians and those using other forms of transportation cross paths in heavily traveled areas.

In the face of political and social upheaval, constant negative headlines and global threats, a common question that has emerged is, "Is the world getting worse?" Not necessarily. Steven Pinker, the Johnstone Family Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University and author of "How the Mind Works" and "The Blank Slate," will address this question today (Oct. 30) in his lecture "What IF the world's actually getting better?"

John Purdue birthday celebration set for Wednesday

The Purdue community is invited to a birthday celebration for John Purdue, the University’s original philanthropist, from noon to 12:15 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 31) around the John Purdue statue, east of University Hall on Memorial Mall.
