Faculty and Staff NewsKastberg, Morgan receive Murphy AwardsSigne Kastberg, associate professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and Melanie Morgan, associate professor in the Brian Lamb School of Communication, have been named recipients of the 2017 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award in Memory of Charles B. Murphy. Kastberg and Morgan were surprised with the news on Monday (March 20). Purdue to hold tuition flat through 2018-19President Mitch Daniels announced Monday (March 20) that the University will hold tuition at 2012 levels through the 2018-19 academic year. Purdue Profiles: Jiyeon LeeJiyeon Lee, assistant professor of speech, language, and hearing sciences, had always pictured herself as an English teacher in South Korea. That is until she had a professor who focused on aphasia, which is the loss of ability to understand or express speech, caused by brain damage. Now, Lee directs the Aphasia Research Laboratory, studying language disorders in stroke survivors and teaching courses on aphasia and related neurogenic communication disorders.
