The Purdue Board of Trustees will hold its meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 14) in Stewart Center, Room 326. The agenda is available here. News from the meeting will be included in Monday's issue of Purdue Today.
Employees who will be covered by a Purdue medical plan in 2014 should watch their home mail for their insurance identification (ID) cards. Anthem will begin sending cards this week. Full distribution of the cards will take several days.
The Purdue University Police Department is alerting faculty, graduate students and any prospective tutors of a scam involving their services and large amounts of money.
To help faculty leverage third-party extensions and add-ons not currently installed in Purdue's Blackboard environment, ITaP has created a Web page outlining factors to consider before submitting a request for adoption.
A more modern look and feel is coming to Purdue's Web-based wiki software, Confluence, as part of an upgrade to Confluence 5.2.5 scheduled for Wednesday (Dec. 18). The service will be unavailable during business hours on this day.

Registration is now open for the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost's Administrative and Professional Staff Recognition Luncheon on Jan. 16. The website includes a listing of honorees and other event information, including how faculty, staff and others can show appreciation for an honoree by attending.
Each winter Purdue employees experience slips and falls due to snowy and icy conditions. Some injuries may be severe and have a long-term physical impact on the employee.
Purdue graduate students conducting research related to visualization and data sciences with applicability to homeland security may apply for funding awards from the Homeland Security -- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (HS-STEM) Career Development Program. The deadline to apply for spring 2014 is Monday (Dec. 16), and the deadline for fall 2014 is March 3.

Purdue's Science Express, a high school outreach program, will partner with the Gary Community School Corp. to help northwest Indiana science teachers and their students learn how to conduct experiments using modern analytical technologies and methods.
The Purdue University Energy Center is expanding its annual, free summer program to more high school students and teachers with support from Indiana's largest electric supplier.
Researchers at Purdue have developed a system that makes it easier to collect, share, explore and reuse data related to the impacts of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and floods.
