In the Spotlight: Green Week

Ross building

TODAY'S THEME: ENERGY

Environmentally friendly building planned for Ross Biological Reserve

The University's most environmentally friendly structure will be built next year at the Ross Biological Reserve, which is situated about 10 miles from Purdue's West Lafayette campus. Called the Ross Reserve Sustainable Building Project, the 1,500-square-foot structure will support classes, meetings, summer programs and Biological Sciences' ecologist-in-residence. It also will be a model for the University and others of affordable energy self-sufficiency through use of solar technology.

Tours of newly consolidated data centers available to celebrate, encourage future energy savings

Purdue's ongoing data center consolidation project has improved data security, reduced power and cooling demand and saved the West Lafayette campus more than $218,800 in the last year. To celebrate and encourage future energy savings, the project's leaders invite faculty and staff to tour the newest consolidated data centers and learn more about how departments and individuals can benefit from the initiative.
