College of Liberal Arts celebrating anniversary with alumni profiles

This spring, the College of Liberal Arts began a yearlong celebration of the 50th anniversary of the birth of the School of Humanities, Social Science, and Education (HSSE), the college's forerunner. This historic event marked the moment that liberal arts began in earnest to build its future as Purdue's center for excellence in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

In honor of its anniversary, the college has asked 50 of its graduates to tell more about their careers and lives. The ongoing series began in THiNK magazine with alumnus Rusty Rueff (left), and continues here.

New security service alerts individuals to career account changes

A new security service delivers automatic confirming emails to Purdue career account holders when changes are made to their passwords, challenge question options, email settings, or after password resets, providing an additional layer of protection for Purdue's academic, business and financial systems.

CSSAC to elect new vice chair in August

The Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee will elect a new vice chair at its August meeting to replace Betty Kroll, who announced her resignation during the group's July 9 meeting.

APSAC shifts start date for subcommittee leaders' terms

The Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (APSAC) voted on Wednesday (July 10) to change the annual start date for its subcommittee chairs and vice chairs to June.

Second session to help with Chinese names, cultural understanding

Due to overwhelming interest from Purdue faculty and staff, a second session to help with pronouncing Chinese names and understanding Chinese culture and attitudes will be offered Aug. 8, led by Wei Hong, director of the Confucius Institute at Purdue. All faculty and staff are welcome.

The Spring Fling walk medals will be available for those who completed the walk this year during the annual event, which was held May 23.
