VIC tour

Visitor Information Center middle school tour gives students
day-in-the-life glimpse

Every year, more than 2,000 middle school students gain a glimpse of college life through the Visitor Information Center's middle school tour program. After more than a decade of hosting tours, the center convened a focus group with middle school teachers and administrators in summer 2010. A walk-in lab will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (Nov. 7) in Stanley Coulter Hall, Room 189. For a schedule of remaining live sessions and additional help during benefits open enrollment, visit the open enrollment home page at www.purdue.edu/hr/Benefits/enroll.html. Open enrollment ends at midnight on Nov. 24.


United Way

'Taste of Admissions' benefits United Way

Support for Purdue's United Way Campaign comes in many forms, including individual pledges, volunteers' time and special events across campus. In the photo, the Office of Admissions holds its first "Taste of Admissions" event on Oct. 26 to benefit the campaign. Participants had the chance to sample more than 15 dishes and purchase the first "Taste of Admissions Recipe Book." Admissions staff raised almost $200 for United Way.

Colombia

Purdue continues to build connections with Colombia

President France A. Córdova (center) on Friday (Nov. 4) meets with Jaime Restrep Cuartes (second from right), the director of Colciencias, the Colombian government's Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation, which supports Colombia's fundamental and applied research. Córdova thanked Restrep Cuartes for his efforts in helping develop a relationship between Purdue and in fostering a biodiversity research engagement between Colombia and Purdue.
