Purdue United Way Campaign entering final stretch

November 7, 2011

Purdue's 2011 United Way Campaign is making a final push to reach its $740,000 goal with just three days left until all pledge cards should be returned.

"Every day, donations continue to come in from faculty, staff, retirees and vanguards," says Anne Washburn, director of Purdue's United Way Campaign. "The generosity of the Purdue community, despite these tough economic times, never ceases to amaze me. We look forward to ending this campaign strong in the next couple of weeks."

A video for the local campaign is available at www.purdue.edu/unitedway.

Faculty and staff can continue to contribute to Purdue's campaign by indicating an amount on a pledge card and choosing among several methods -- payroll deduction; one-time direct donation; or quarterly, monthly or one-time billing. Purdue employees and retiree donations may be designated to one or more of the 23 agencies helped by the United Way of Greater Lafayette, or for the United Way of a surrounding county.

Returned pledge cards are kept confidential, and team captains do not know the amount indicated. Cards should be returned to the team caption or sent via campus mail to the alumni center at DAUC by Thursday (Nov. 10) to be counted in campaign totals.

All faculty and staff who have not received a pledge card can pick one up at Dauch Alumni Center or print one from www.purdue.edu/unitedway.
