Game Starters: Scott Horton, video production
Before the team takes the field and the referees call for kickoff, Purdue staff members play their part in making football games successful. Each Friday before Ross-Ade Stadium comes alive with cheering Boilermakers, a staff member who is integral to game day will be featured in Purdue Today's Game Starters series. * The inaugural Boiler Bridge Walk will start at 5:30 p.m. today (Sept. 10) at the fountain on the West Lafayette side of the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge. Boiler Bridge Walks will take place on Fridays before all seven home games and feature the team interacting with their fellow citizens as they walk across the bridge to Riehle Plaza.
* The Purdue football team opens its home schedule Saturday (Sept. 11) against Western Illinois, with kickoff scheduled for noon. Ticket information is at www.purduesports.com.
* Prior to Saturday's game, North University Drive will be renamed John R. Wooden Drive in a ceremony at 11:05 a.m. More
* Also on Saturday, Purdue Bands & Orchestras will present the Jazz Tailgate at 9 a.m. and "Thrill on the Hill" at 10 a.m. at Slayter Center. After the game, Purdue's "All-American" Marching Band will march from the stadium to Purdue Mall for a concert.
