Indiana Innovation Alliance to hold Day at the Statehouse in February

Faculty, staff and students are invited to show support for the Indiana Innovation Alliance during the alliance's Day at the Statehouse on Feb. 17. The IIA is a partnership between Purdue and Indiana University designed to bring together Indiana's research universities, biomedical and biotechnology firms, health and life sciences organizations, local economic development organizations and state government. Area near Union, Stewart to close for project

Fencing is to be installed next week for construction of the Class of 1980 Plaza in the area where a person between Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center would walk toward State Street and Sheetz Street. The project, which includes a brick walk, benches and plantings, is to be completed by March 30. New filtering technology has environmental, industrial applications

Materials engineers have created a new type of membrane that separates oil from water and, if perfected, might be used for environmental cleanup, water purification and industrial applications. The new technology would last longer than conventional filters for separating oil from water and works by attracting water while beading oil, traits that are usually mutually exclusive. More
