The Confucius Institute is pleased to announce the following cross-cultural lectures to spark interest of Purdue community on understanding US and China, including the people, cultures, society, languages and cross-cultural communication; to provide a forum of dialogues between Chinese and non-Chinese communities on successful communication in academic, social, leisure and research settings. Lecture Series invited Purdue experts to share their knowledge and experiences on topics relevant to their specialty and experiences. All lectures in English, and open to the public free of charge. Light lunch will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
March 20, 12-1 --- Working with the Chinese Students---Classroom, Advising and Research; STEW 218A/B;
A presentation of successful experiences of Purdue faculty and advisors working with the Chinese students in the classroom, advising and research; audience is encouraged to interact with the panelists, Ben Lawton, Beth Burnett, Stephen Martin and Joe Potts on how to efficiently and successfully engage the international students in the academic life at Purdue.
April 17, 12-5 --- Student Connection from Asian and Asian American perspectives; PMU 118;
Through exhibits, video presentations and panel discussions, and co-organized by the Asian and Pacific American Caucus (APAC), this event will present how Asian and Asian American students interact with the rest of the campus. Student panelists will also share their experiences working with the faculty, mentors, advisors and fellow students at Purdue.
