September 21, 2015

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Students interested in a future in the aerospace industry are encouraged to attend a Purdue University event this week.

The Aerospace on Campus series, presented by the Wings Club, will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 23) in Fowler Hall. The event is sponsored by the Department of Aviation Technology in the Polytechnic Institute and the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics in the College of Engineering.

Casey Hendrickson, recruitment, placement and events coordinator for the Department of Aviation Technology, said the event offers an informative discussion for students who want to pursue a career in aerospace.

Speakers scheduled for the series include Dennis Warner, president of Rolls-Royce Controls and Data Services in North America; Greg Hamilton, president of Aviation Week Network; and John Croft, senior avionics editor, Aviation Week and Space Technology.

Hendrickson says the speakers will provide an inside perspective for students on the dramatic changes underway in the aerospace, defense and aviation industries.

The discussion series includes an announcement from executives at Rolls-Royce, also a sponsor for the event.

The series is free and open to the public.
