WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University alumnus Jerry A. Brand will deliver a talk on Nov. 19 as part of the School of Mechanical Engineering's Charles E. and Louise W. Springer Lecture Series in Economics and Innovation.

He will speak about "Fiscal Responsibility – Navigating Your Future Path by Making Sound Financial Decisions to Achieve Personal and Professional Success" at 5:30 p.m. in room 1061 of the Mechanical Engineering Building. This lecture is free and open to the public, with limited seating available.

Brand is a partner at INOK Investments, a real estate investments company he co-founded with Bruce Morain, who lives in Norman, Oklahoma. INOK, which combines IN for Indiana and OK for Oklahoma, owns Duncan Park, a technology park at the intersection of Sagamore Parkway and Duncan Road in Lafayette. Brand, who earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue in 1986, founded Brand Heating and Air Conditioning at the age of 26. He sold the company in 1997.

The lecture series is named for and was endowed by Purdue alumnus Charles E. Springer and his wife, Louise. Guest lecturers are sought with a preference for those who have business insight, experience in managing budgets in engineering, and who can discuss the importance of fiscal responsibility in industry. This lecture series supports the School of Mechanical Engineering's goal to offer a variety of avenues for students to engage with alumni and industry leaders locally and globally to apply their knowledge and abilities to improve society in ways that are ethical and economically efficient.
