WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Neuro Vigor LLC announced Thursday (April 24) the signing of an exclusive worldwide license with Purdue Research Foundation to develop and commercialize technology that promises an innovative approach to reducing the symptoms and pain of neurological disease and injury, including multiple sclerosis, neuropathic pain and Parkinson's disease.

This pioneering technology is based on more than 15 years of research conducted at Purdue University and recently led by Neuro Vigor's co-founder and chief scientist, Riyi Shi, an internationally recognized researcher and professor of biomedical engineering and neurosciences at Purdue University.

"We are pleased to have reached a license agreement with PRF to bring the benefits of this technology to patients worldwide," Shi said. "This therapy offers strong potential to manage symptoms with more effectiveness and fewer side-effects than current treatments."

The PRF technology licensed by Neuro Vigor focuses on a novel way to reduce a toxic substance that Shi has identified as a significant contributor to neurological disease and pain. The company intends to pursue advanced pre-clinical research before beginning clinical trials and eventual patient use.

The technology is patented through the Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization, which operates one of the most comprehensive technology transfer programs among leading research universities in the United States.
