Sierra Club director to give Purdue talk via Skype

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Michael Brune, executive director of Sierra Club, will speak via Skype to a Purdue audience Monday (Feb. 24).

The event, sponsored by Krannert Net Impact Club, will be at 7 p.m. in the Krannert Auditorium.

Brune is the author of "Coming Clean - Breaking America's Addiction to Oil and Coal." The book looks at climate disruption and lays out a plan for moving America to a clean-energy economy.

The Sierra Club's Beyond Coal campaign addresses the challenge to phase out coal energy in the United States.

During his speech, Brune is expected to discuss sustainability, climate change and renewable energy.
