Purdue MEP launches Six Sigma website

April 8, 2013

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University's Manufacturing Extension Partnership has a new website designed to be a Six Sigma information resource.

The website, found at http://www.sixsigma.purdue.edu/, provides manufacturers and their employees with all pertinent information related to Six Sigma in one place. The website includes information on Six Sigma goals and processes, training and certification, success stories and frequently asked questions.

The website also includes information and registration for upcoming training programs, including ones planned this spring and summer in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend and Lafayette.

Six Sigma is a waste and variation reduction program for manufacturers that combines a detailed roadmap with statistical tools to attack and resolve most critical business issues. Successful Six Sigma projects produce measurable results and help increase a company's skills in process optimization and continuous improvement.

With Six Sigma training, employees learn to make decisions based on data. They are trained to look at the business from a customer's perspective. And the training can lead to a culture change in how employees approach their jobs.

MEP, a part of Purdue's Technical Assistance Program, provides high-value, affordable solutions to help businesses increase profitability.
