Aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart has a starring role in the new Fox film "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," but Earhart had an even bigger role and spent more than a few nights at Purdue University. She worked at Purdue from 1935-37 as a career counselor for women students and an adviser to the Department of Aeronautics. Purdue recently dedicated a sculpture of Earhart in front of a campus residence hall to encourage students to follow careers in whatever field they choose.
