Trustees OK $56.6M to renovate three academic halls, libraries; endorse recommendations from Classroom Master Plan

The Purdue University Board of Trustees today (Oct. 7) approved a $46.6 million transformation of University, Beering and Stanley Coulter halls, and a $10 million renovation of libraries facilities on the West Lafayette campus, two major construction projects aimed at enhancing the student academic experience and student success. Trustees also endorsed a list of recommendations from the recently completed Classroom Master Plan to update the learning spaces of more than 90 classrooms on campus.

Room and board rates to remain flat for most Purdue students on West Lafayette campus for 2023-24

Reflecting the university’s continued focus and effort to maintain student affordability, most Purdue students on the West Lafayette campus will see no increase in room and board rates for the 2023-24 academic year. This marks the 11th consecutive year students on the West Lafayette campus will not see an increase in university residence hall rates.

Trustees approve employment contract for incoming President Chiang

The Purdue University Board of Trustees today (Oct. 7) approved an employment contract for incoming President Mung Chiang, setting base pay, establishing an at-risk pay program based on annual performance, and providing retention incentives for the contract that runs for 6.5 years, from Jan. 1, 2023, through June 30, 2029.

Trustees approve Daniels’ at-risk pay

The Purdue University Board of Trustees today (Oct. 7) reviewed the 2021-22 performance evaluation for President Mitch Daniels and voted to approve his at-risk pay at 98%, based on measures set out by trustees in February 2021. Trustees congratulated Daniels and the university’s faculty, staff and students for their efforts and achievements over the past year.

Purdue trustees ratify faculty positions, award posthumous degrees, approve resolutions of appreciation

The Purdue University Board of Trustees today (Oct. 7) ratified eight faculty positions, awarded two posthumous degrees and approved resolutions of appreciation for friends of the university.

Daniels reports to trustees on enrollment

In his report today (Oct. 7) to the Board of Trustees, President Mitch Daniels updated the trustees on enrollment trends at each of Purdue’s campuses. Overall enrollment now exceeds 105,000 with growth coming from West Lafayette and Purdue Global. Daniels also showed enrollment trends from the university’s three high schools, which now enroll nearly 1,000 students with more growth expected.

Dean Hummels provides report to trustees

In his presentation today (Oct. 7) to the Board of Trustees, David Hummels, the Dr. Samuel R. Allen Dean of the School of Management, highlighted rapidly rising undergraduate and graduate program enrollments, student quality and student success, and nationally recognized faculty. Looking to the future, Hummels noted that the new School of Business will have a refocused curriculum and deeper corporate/campus partnerships while operating on a much larger scale.
