The campuswide classroom master planning effort was announced last semester as a part of the Transformative Education 2.0 initiative. Some flavors and aromas are more elusive than others. A team of Purdue researchers recently found the molecular recipe for a compound highly coveted by the flavor industry: benzaldehyde, found with the help of the petunia flower. It may not sound tasty, but it is key to some of the most popular flavors including cherry, almond and raspberry.
