Purdue’s one-of-a-kind theatre engineering program combines artist’s creativity, engineer’s diligence

Did you know that Purdue has a first-of-its-kind theatre engineering concentration? In this unique program, students like Issy Block, a senior double majoring in theatre design and production plus multidisciplinary engineering with a concentration in theatre engineering, can learn to speak two very different languages: those of art and science.

Three Purdue engineering faculty members elected AAAS Fellows

Three Purdue faculty members leading the way in engineering excellence have been elected to the distinction of Fellow by the world’s largest general scientific society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The College of Engineering's Gary Cheng, Karl Smith and John Sutherland were honored for their significant efforts toward advancing science applications that are deemed scientifically or socially distinguished.

Presidential Lecture Series guest to discuss leading 9/11 victims fund

Washington, D.C., attorney Kenneth R. Feinberg might not be well-known beyond the Beltway. But his remarkable work the past 35 years as the nation’s leading mediator in the most complex disputes and compensation claim cases certainly is. Feinberg will join President Mitch Daniels as part of Presidential Lecture Series at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1 in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse. The event is free and open to the public.
