Today: What IF AI tools punish the poor?

In an increasingly automated world, what if AI tools are harmful to poor people? Virginia Eubanks, associate professor of political science at the University of Albany, SUNY, will address this question in her Ideas Festival lecture at 4:30 p.m. today in Stewart Center’s Fowler Hall.

In a recent visit to campus, Miles O’Brien, award-winning science correspondent for "PBS Newshour," visited the labs of Purdue researchers all working on innovative technologies. What he discovered is that engineering health is a purposeful passion among Purdue’s best and brightest.

College students looking to share a ride for a weekend getaway, a trip home or a spring break vacation now have a new option from a Purdue University-affiliated startup. A group of students from the School of Industrial Engineering in Purdue’s College of Engineering created UniRide — a ride-booking app for college students.
